It is the name of a project in Palestine that is especially close to our hearts, dedicated to building and rehabilitating schools. We believe that schools and education are the very roots of a future built on hope and peace.
While this is true all over the world, in Palestine, where boys and girls face daily threats and violence simply to go to school, the word Juzoor also means protection. In Palestine, where children see their right to education trampled upon daily, if not entirely denied, Juzoor also means freedom.
From these core principles, the project "Juzoor, Schools for Freedom" was born. It has already allowed us to build a school in Khallet Taha, in the West Bank, providing 55 children with a safe place to learn and grow.
Today, our new goal is to renovate the second floor of the "Aisha Khalil" school in the village of Al Jway, also in the West Bank. Taking action is urgent: until these classrooms are ready, 80 children will have to continue studying in shipping containers. This is an unacceptable setup, and one that is extremely dangerous for the health, safety, and psycho-physical well-being of both students and teachers.
Every donation, no matter how small, can help bring about a change that will make a world of difference in these children's live.
Through this renovation, these children will finally have a safe and dignified place to study. CISP has joined forces with VIS (Volontariato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo) to promote the fundraising campaign for this project. The support of many is vital—your support is vital.
